Myself or Someone Like Me

I haven't been on this thing in forever. I'm on My Space now and I think I'm kinda addicted. I've been with my boyfriend for 8 months and 11 days. It's amazing actually. This summer has been really stressful for me and it's just started. Hopefully it will get better. I have a new job at the VA hospital but I haven't started it yet. My birthday is 3 weeks from tomorrow (please forward all presents, cards, flowers, etc to UAB). My family it coming to visit me since I have to go to school the day before. God bless them for it. I've never spent my birthday alone and I don't want to start now. I'm on a committee at school to help hire a new director for the program I'm in. The temporary director has changed her tune and has applied to have the job permanently.... I have no comment, just in case I'm under survallance. ;~) ( The eagle has landed. Gotta go)

Do you remember February 1993 when a young 3 yr. old was taken from a Shopping mall in Liverpool, NY by two 10-year-old boys? Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only a second and Jon Venables took his hand and led him out of the mall with his friend Robert Thompson. They took Jamie on a walk for over 2 and a half miles, along the way stopping every now and again to torture the poor little boy who was crying constantly for his mommy. Finally they stopped at a railway track where they brutally kicked him, threw stones at him, rubbed paint in his eyes and pushed
batteries up his anus. It was actually worse than this...

What these two boys did was so horrendous that Jamie's mother was FORBIDDEN to identify his body. They then left his beaten small body on the tracks so a train could run him over to hide the mess they had created. These two boys, even being boys, understood what they did was wrong, hence trying to make it look like an accident. This week Lady Justice Butler-Sloss has awarded the two boys anonymity for the rest of their lives when they leave custody with new identities. We cannot let this happen. They will also leave early this year only serving just over half of their sentence. One paper even stated that Robert may go on to a University. They are getting away with their crime.

They disgustingly and violently took Jamie's life away - in return they get a new life. Please read it carefully... then add your name at the end... and send it to everyone you can! Well, I just go off the phone with my mom (God bless her) and she said that my boyfriend's view of marriage is a safety mechanism. His parents marriage failed and that affected him more than I could possibly understand. According to him one of his parents is now in a loveless marriage, his grandparents are married but don't live together, so he doesn't exactly have a very good template of a good marriage. She says that I could change his view by staying with him. That way he can experience a good and healthy relationship.

THe only problem I have with this is the word change. It comes up a lot in relation to my boyfriend. The way he dresses, how often we go out (my boyfriend is a recluse), the way he feels about touching/hugging in public are some of the things he says he'll change. They seem small, and I guess all the things he talks about changing are, but with all these changes will he still be the same person I care about. I don't know if he'll be better or worse or if he really wants to makes these changes. I don't want him to do them if it doesn't make him happy. All these changes won't make me stay longer if he's miserable.

On a lighter note, I have all my Christmas shopping done. I don't have to shop for my boyfriend until after Christmas. We're exchanging gifts on the 30. I got really go gifts from the people I work with. I got some bath stuff, kick-ass earrings, and a $50 gift certificate to the Galleria. I wanted a scarf and a pair of gloves but Christmas isn't here yet. Maybe Santa aka my mom and dad, got me some.

I have a plan for my life. I want to be a MT, get married, and have children, more than anything, preferably before I’m 30; 35 at the latest. I want to wait at least 2 years before my husband and I even try to have children, I want to be married when I’m 28, 33 at the latest. That way when my kids are 20 and in college I’ll be somewhere between 50 and 55; so when I retire my kids will have their own life and can take care of themselves. I'm well on my way to becoming an MT but the married with kids thing is giving me problems.

My boyfriend and I were talking about marriage, not us getting married, just marriage in general, and he said the most disturbing thing. He said “All the marriages that I knows of are bad and usually end in divorce so why bother”. I was so shocked. I felt like he smacked me in the face. We met on E-harmony.com and people join that website specifically to find their future wife or husband. How could he have such a negative image of marriage? I told him “I want to get married and I would never marry anyone with a negative view of marriage.” Why would I? If you go into a marriage thinking it's going to end in divorce, guess what it will! I'm only going to get married once, so I have to do it right the first time.

I want what my parents have. My parents were high school sweethearts and the still love each other so much; I want… no I DESERVE that. I thought that there was a possibility of that for us. I want to live in Virginia and make my life there but I was ready to move to Georgia because that’s were his life is and if I wanted to be in it I would have to make my life there. Without the possibility of marriage I will not chain myself to an area that I don’t want to live in if given the choice. So I said “Well, I guess I'll be able to move to Virginia then.” Do you know what he said to me... “How is that gonna work? Our long distance relationship is hard enough, what would happened if I moved farther away?” the NERVE of him to say that to me!!

He knows that I want to get married. I’ve told him that I’m not the type of person to stay in a relationship waiting to get married. There comes a time when you have to shit or get off the pot. I don’t shack either. I’m not going to live with someone that has no intention of marring me. I told him this when we first got together and he AGREED!! He said he wouldn’t stay with anyone for years and not get married, but why would he ever get married if he finds the idea distasteful.

So I said “At that stage in my life I will seriously be looking for a husband but you won’t seriously be looking for a wife, why would I stay?” Then he asks, “Did you expect me to propose?” I said “No, but we always talk about what we’ll be doing next year and next Christmas and I’ll be ready to graduate then and without the possibility of us staying together I can go to Virginia.” Then he asks, “Are you breaking up with me?” I said “No, Next year is next year and next Christmas is a long time away. I’m with you now and that’s all that matters right now. It’s just not what I thought so I’ve changed my view of our relationship that’s all. It’s not good or bad just different. When that time comes things will change but that’s not now or anytime soon. Who says we’ll make it that far?”

I was ready to give this relationship an infinite amount of time under the assumption that there was a possibility of marriage. Just the possibility not an ultimatum. He took away the possibility of us being together forever and so did I. Now our relationship has a time line, a defiant beginning and end. So unless his views change, (and I would be suspicious if they did. He has already said many times that he’s tired of being alone.) this time next year I’ll be single. He can’t relocate; this is where his life is and I’m not going to stay here. I won’t break up with him now because I enjoy being with him. It’s the highlight of my month; I can’t wait to see him again after he leaves. I just won’t invest anything else into it now that I know it’s going nowhere. I WILL NOT remain stationary. I WILL move forward. I’ve never let anyone hold me back and I won’t start now. There is not enough love in this world to stop me from reaching my goals. I’ve told him before if there is something that I really want to do I’ll do it with or without him; this is just another one of those things.

Only 24 more hours and then I get to leave to see my boyfriend. I'm so excited. I going to his grandma's birthday party. He has a surprise for me. I REALLY want to know and the dork almost told me, but I told him not to. I love surprises. I'm trying to get as much as I can done before I leave so I can just go their and he'll have my full attention. He won't know what to do. He says he's used to me ignoring/zoning out on him. Ok enough gushing over my boyfriend. I really haven't been up to anything lately but the normal stuff; work, school, gym, and study. My week started out bad. I felt icky because I was taking some pills to speed up my metabolism, which as a result speeds up my heart rate, and I that an inhaler before I workout, which also speeds up my heart rate. I could feel my heart beating and the blood circulating through my veins. It was disturbing. I always felt nauseous and you would think with my heart beating so fast that I would have all this energy; nope. I was sluggish; I had to drag myself everywhere. I've stopped taking them and now I feel so much better. I have a test on monday that I haven't studied for and I still need to pack of the weekend. No rest for the weary.

I started out today on the wrong foot. Early this morning, around half past 1(AM) I feel asleep while talking to my boyfriend. Ain't I a great girlfriend?!?!? Then I woke up a few hours before class today so I could read over my assignment for it. I went to go in the shower and there was no hot water. I thought no big deal; it is kinda early, I'll just read over my assignment and give it time to warm up. No such luck, so I had to take a shower in subzero temperature water. I was so angry about that that I forgot to send my boyfriend his ritual 'Good Morning' text message. Then I went to lab and a two test that should have taken me an hour at the most took me 2 and a half hours all because I'm an idiot. I used lysised blood cells when it said as plan as day in the manual to use whole. It took me an hour and a half and 3 people for me to finally understand what I was doing wrong. When I left lab I noticed I had a text message from my boyfriend. I was excited about it until I read it. He told me good morning and that he missed his good morning text. That made me feel so small. This guy is nothing but good to me and what do I do, ignore him. I'm such a bad girfriend. Who knew it was so hard to keep a man happy. I'm going to go workout today with Tori's boyfriend, Matt, that will make me feel better. Then I have to haul ass to Luna's Halloween party. When did I get so popular?? I can't wait till tomorrow, then I can catch up on some sleep.

I finally decided to update this thing because now I have something to write about. What's been going on since the last update until now... nothing major. I went home for the summer. I worked at a 24hr gas station; I wouldn't recommend anyone do that, unless you like to deal with irate drunks, whores, and the police. I met a guy but he wasn't anything special, just someone to hang out with. Now I'm back in school. I got into my program, Medical Technology. I've met some really cool people in the program. Tori is my best friend; we talk about everything. We had a 21st birthday party for one of our classmates, Renee'. It was dubbed the "Get drunk, get laid" party. No one got laid but we did get drunk and pour our guts out to each other. It was a lot of fun. We're really close now. I've lost 48lbs. YEAH!! I'm uber broke. I have so many bills that my money is spent before I make it. I've met a wonderful man; his name is Chris. I met him on e-harmony.com (ok you can stop laughing now). He's an incredible person. We've been officially dating for a week and we knew each other a month before that. On our second date we went to see the Lion King (off-broadway, touring show). It was fantastic. I loved it; Rafiki was my favorite. I guess that's pretty much gets me caught up. I took a test today. I got a 69 and that's great since I only studied for one day. I'm really moody today and i was pissed off and Chris called me on his 15 min break to make me feel better (Aww...). I feel fat and nauseous, but other than that my day has been great.

I just spent the last 3 hours at Auto Zone. *Why?* Good question. I was getting my battery checked. Here’s the whole story. I had a really good day at work today. I sat on my butt and did nothing and got paid for it. Anyway, I had locked my keys in my car earlier in the week (or last week, I really don’t remember). I didn’t find out until yesterday; I just thought they were lost in the mess of crap in my room. I found out from my co-worker who would unlock my doors. So after I got off work I called them. I took the guy a half an hour to get there and another half an hour to unlock my car. He obviously didn’t know how to use a slim-jim. So I got my keys and stuff out of the car and went up to my room. At 9:00 I was getting hungry and I need supplies for my art project, but when I went to crank my car it didn’t start. It has been sitting in the parking lot awhile; it just needs to get some gas into the engine, my desperate attempts to rationalize my car not starting. I try again; it didn’t start and on the third time it just made this clicking sound. I know nothing about cars, so I immediately start to freak. I tried cranking it 3 more times, of course it didn’t start. I had to call the same people again to jump off my car. So the guy came buy and he had to use two sets of jumper cables, one connected to his truck and one set connected to a battery (or cell, I not sure what those things are called), to get my car started. The guy told me to go to Auto Zone to get it checked and charged. So I went there, the Auto Zone guy said “Drive it around for about half an hour and it should charge back up.” So I did. Took it back to get it checked again, I didn’t work. “Well let me take it in the store and see if it will hold a charge.” So I did. I was in there for an hour and a half waiting for my battery. The guy tells me it dead. I just thought “Thank God I got paid today.” He got me a battery to buy and I didn’t have any checks. By this point it 11:30, my sugar is low, and I’m delirious. I don’t live that far away and I told him I would be right back. I pulled into the parking lot, put my car in park, and turned off the ignition. As soon as I did it I just wanted to throw myself in front of the nearest moving vehicle. I got to talk to Ralphy. Yes, that gorgeous half Cuban Casanova for another post. I had a number on my cell phone that looked like his so I sent him a text message and asked him if he called me. He called me back and teased me for sending the text message and not calling him instead. I have no chance in hell of dating this boy but a girl can dream. He went to see Evanescence tonight in Atlanta. He was driving back from the concert. We talked for an hour about the concert, girls, and boys, and that was the highlight of my day. That’s so pathetic; sad but true. At least I started the day off on a good note, it can only get better, right?

So much for my quite solitude and working on my project...
Once I had gotten out of that funk I was in this morning, I was had a lot of fun at work. I saw my friend, David, today and he’s setting me up with one of his friends. His girlfriend and I went to the same high school. He was asking her about me and his male friend was there. His friend wants to talk to me based on what they had to said about me; or so he says. I’m not sure how I feel about that yet. I want to know what they said about me more that anything. He’s going to call me tomorrow at lunch time, and since calichan has switched the day that we’re going to get together from Friday to Saturday, I might go out with him Friday night if he asks; it depends on what kind of mood I'm in. A change of pace my do me good. Anyways, back to my original thought. I was at work today and I usually get off at 5, but my boss asked me to stay after work for an hour. I really didn’t want to because my boss is a creepy guy, like serial killer kind of creepy, but I’m poor and I need the money so of course I stay. Well that hour was more like two hours and I just didn’t feel like working on my project so I went back to my room. Apparently my funk is back, because my roommate asked me repeatedly if I was ok. I also found out that I might not be coming back to school in the fall. I'm really not that upset about it. I really want and need to come back in the fall, but I also need a break. I'm just burnt out, but if I wait I'll be in school that much longer. I want to work; I love to work, even if I complain about it from time to time. My roommate is trying to help me get a dorm room by requsting that we room together again. Even if I do get a room money is the main factor. If I don't get a grant,I still can't go. I don’t know; I'm not going to stress about it either. I’m going to go to my niche in the corner, my little sanctuary, read a little Gravitation and try to work on my project.

I would have put a spectacular rant here but I won’t for a number of reasons.

1. I did my rant at work this morning.

2. I hate to rant. I think it pointless. It just people complaining for longer than necessary. I know what you’re thinking; you just said you had a rant at work this morning. Yeah I know I just contradicted myself, but sometime you need to rant. If I don’t when I need to I tend to blow up at people, and say things that I mean, but not in the nicest way possible. I would rather listen to others rant than do it myself. I know it makes them fell better to rant, so being the caring person that I am, I listen patiently as they rant and rave about God knows what.

3. Although I did have a valid reason to rant, it just seems really stupid to do so. In two weeks I won’t have this problem anymore. Now I’m mad at myself because I couldn’t keep it together for a little longer.

This is turning into a rant isn’t it?!?!? Damn it! I don’t know what my problem is today. Maybe I’m hormonal or something. Whatever my problem is I need to fix it soon. Aten_ra, Luna and I are supposed to be going over calichan’s house tomorrow, but if I’m not in a better mood then I’m not going anywhere.

Anyways I’ll just take my aggression out on my work and then just separate myself from everything, get some much deserved me time. Maybe that will help.

I was sitting about yesterday, just being lazy, and Luna, missdiana, casually reminds me that I haven't updated my livejournal; I guess today is as good as any other day to update so here goes. So what have I done this past week? Hmmm.... I remember martinis earlier in the week. I went once with Luna, calichan, and aten_ra. I drank mine and most of Luna's, so when we left I had a very nice buzz. Then I went the next day with my brother and his wife. She didn't like her martini so I dunk it and mine. After I had dunked all that alcohol on an empty stomach, not a good idea, I had this weird thought. I always drink an even number of drinks. Weird, huh. Anyways…

I remember watching some movies. I watched Velvet Goldmine one night with the same group of gals. It was a........strange movie. I didn't really get and then Cali and Luna tried to explain it, something about aliens and a jewel....I don't know, it just made it more confusing. Cali says it makes more sense the more times you watch it. I don't know about that. Then we watched movies later on in the week and Katie came along too. We watched Fear of the Dark and The Ring. They were ok I guess.

More recently Luna went to see that 9/11 movie, and guess who had to listen to her rant when she came back from the movie... got it in 1. I think politics are evil anyways and the only time I get involved with them is when I have to vote. I'll do a little research on the candidates and get opinions from trusted friend and make an educated vote. Other than that I keep away from politics like the plaque. So I just politely listened to her rant, nodded my hand, and threw in a comment every once in a while so she would know I wasn't tuning her out. She was very passionate about her argument so it would be rude of me to tune her out even if I didn't want to hear it. I found out that Luna's sister won't be starting school with us in the fall and I was really looking forward to meeting her. Oh well.....

I guess that catches us up to now. I'm caught up in art class and at work now. I have a drawing to turn in on Monday. I started on it yesterday, but I accidentally ripped it in half. Luna and I were going to the grocery store. On the way there I was working on my drawing and I needed a piece of paper. Of course Luna's car is clean, unlike mine, so I couldn't pick up one off the floor; the only paper in my car was my sketchbook. I found the scratch sheet I was looking for and I grabbed it to tear off a piece. I ended up ripping it and the two sheets after. I was really proud of my drawing too. Today was critique day in art class today and my old master drawing was a big hit. I got a few comments about my exterior, they were all nice, but it wasn't that great of a drawing.

Tomorrow Luna, Cali, Ralphy, this half Cuban cutie in my art class :-D, and I are going to the art museums won't even go into any details about him. I can talk about good looking, interesting men all day and my entry is already way to long. Ralphy and I have to write a review of a drawing or exhibit for class. I can't wait; it should be fun.

I am so tired. I have this drawing I still have to do for art. I was supposed to turn it in today but a little white lie got me an extension, but only until Wednesday. *growl* I HATE art class. *yawn*I’m SO tired. I never get to sleep. When I do I sleep all day, when I don’t have to get up and go to work. Then I have to stay up the next couple of nights to catch up on the work I should have been doing while I slept, hence my art my drawing not being finished. I had two to draw, an interior and an exterior, and I planned on doing both last weekend. Between Friday and Saturday I slept over 30 hours. 30 HOURS!!! I slept an entire day away. *sigh* At least I got the interior drawing done. I got a decent grade for it, now I just have to draw the exterior. Woe is me. Being exhausted all the time has affected my job also. I’m always behind. I’m like a week behind right now My boss hasn’t said anything to me, yet. I guess she feels sorry for me; I don’t know. ~(my inner voice, Kishia)~ You did take two days off the weekend of the 4th and you left work 40 min early on Friday.~ *my alter ego, Niki* She still shouldn’t be behind. You’re just making excuses for her. She took the whole week off for Spring Break and when she came back on that Monday she was only a day behind. I’m disgusted with you and her. You’re just letting her off the hook. She had such a good work ethic; she was always ahead in her work, even if she is never on time.* ~ Ok… so maybe she never made it to work on time, but she couldn’t now if she wanted to.~ *yawn* I despise being tired. It makes the voices in my head so much louder. Now I must get to work. There’s no rest for the weary.

Hello! I feel kinda dubious about this but I guess I'll get over it as time goes on. I just thought I would post now and try to get used to the whole idea. I just back to school from home, I went home for revival. It was fun, but I'm tired now so I'll post another day.
